Kenosha sucks, stay away. My wife works there and it is not safe in many areas outside of her company campus
One last argument for Kenosha...I rent a 3 BR house, 2 floors, 2 car garage, all utilities included w/washer/dryer/dishwasher/central air, on 3 acres with a fire pit, for $1100/mo.

Northbrook, Deerfield. Try to be close to I-294.

If you really want to save money, check out Kenosha. 45 min from ORD, 30 from MKE, and has a Metra stop. Sales tax is 5.5% but income tax is a little higher.
Gurnee or Libertyville are decent options tho
Kenosha is fine other than a few blocks around 52nd and 20th. Any town of 100k+ has bad parts even Naperville. Go to Pleasant Prairie or Somers if you prefer, same thing.
What's reasonable driving distance mean to you, some of these places mentioned are 30+mins to the airport, that's not reasonable for me, but maybe for you. Also, what are you looking for in your new town, better schools, social scene, lower cost of living? These suggestions vary depending on that as well.
I’m in my early 20s but I don’t really go out very much so nightlife isn’t really much of a consideration. Mostly CoL, would prefer newer construction or recently renovated, not gonna have kids so schools don’t matter. I’d prefer something less than a 45 minute car ride to the airport.

Especially if you want to rent
Rental locations and modern living accommodations may be sparse, but look into Lagrange. Wonderful little town just a 9-iron away from MDW
Glenview is very close to the airport
