I really think that the insurance policy given by mediassist is way more expensive for parental insurance, means who will pay for 50k+ premium and that too for large copay, I guess the leadership team should intervene here....Parental insurance is really important for any employee and most of the time is only needed.
Recently I used parental insurance and found that the insurance company only paid for 50% of the total bill.

Canada is bleeding in jobs...

I'm from Melbourne and would highly recommend it. It's got great opportunities and is an awesome city.
If you end up looking for a consulting role over there DM me. However I think times are tough with covid.
I’m from Canada, now living in the US so here’s the canadian view: Toronto is great and probably easiest to transition. However if you lived in Texas, you may consider Calgary as they are similar in many ways (except for weather). For the most chill and enjoyable city, Vancouver is the best bet.
I’m not sure how salary compares to Australia, but there’s just a lot going for Canada, I won’t list them all, but just in general, great country, great environment (not too many people), with the trade off of lower income even before you take fx into consideration. With that said, you can do quite well still in Calgary if money is very important.

Op are you on H1?
They are but I need a backup plan in case things don't work out
AU is very tough these days!
Know multiple people who got laid off in last few months and those who were on company sponsered visa had 60 days for job hunting. (Your new company has to sponsor you as well).
Plus the PR game has gotten very tough and looks very unpromising considering unemployment rate.
Weather and people are good but we need to earn as well, right 😬
Yup yup ! Cut-off is insane these days and won't come down by end of the year although late August is good reference to re-evaluate after their migration changes are out.(It is usually June/July period but got delayed this year due to COVID)
So, 15 K is not visa type but approximate number of Visas Australian Government is offering Oppressed Hong Kong citizens.
