Thinking of moving to LA in a few months to pursue my dream career to be a talent agent or to work in the business side of music. I have no connections and no previous experience in these fields. For context I’m in my 30s, single w/no kids, and have a good amount of money saved up for the move. I’m currently feeling unfulfilled with my current job, and would regret it if I didn’t try this out. Has anyone else found success in this city later on in life? Part of a BD now, thinking of going on my own as RIA. Costs would be about 50% less, which makes it seem like an obvious choice. Have a deep family friend relationship with current firm, though. I don’t want to burn a bridge, but am I crazy to be a bit upset that the relationship could keep me from doing what I think may be right? Really struggling with that part of the decision.
