Thinking of pivoting (in the next few years) from a big4 consulting firm making decent money to something more meaningful (to me) and hands-on but maybe seen as “lower”. I’m willing and able to go back to school or relocate for a new career, and as long as I can pay bills & save some, money isn’t a huge deal to me.

Some (def not all) ideas I’m spitballing:
Forestry services
Bartender
Mechanic
EMT
Seasonal work in national parks
Pilot
Electrician
Radiology tech

Talk me into/out of it!

Can anyone explain the levels at Google? I’m a consultant with 1.5 years of consulting experience and 5 years of industry pre MBA experience. Spoke with someone at Google about analytical lead role that I think would be leveled at 4 or 5? Thoughts on applying vs waiting it out to get promoted to project leader in 6 months and making move then? Know for sure I want out of consulting in next year but not sure if it’s worth it to wait for better comp exit?

When I originally was looking to get into a big Tech company, I decided to get my foot in the door my best option would be to become an admin. Any advice on how to get others to bet on me/advocate for my career development with skills that I have but do not have to opportunity to use everyday?
