Well.. EY is trying to "even" people out. Meaning if people have the same tine in and one is getting paid more, then the o e thatvgeta paid less will have a bigger raise than the other. Which sounds great right? Even everyone out for the same amount of work, but if i have a more advanced degree than the other person who started at the same time, and my reviews have always been better than that other person, why should they get a bigger raise? That is not even.

What's wrong with KPMG? I love it here and we have people from the other big4 that weren't that happy with their previous employers. Plus... I believe KPMG pays them a little more. @PWC I am not salty, but what do you guys know that I don't about KPMG? Is it the 4th revenue ranking?

I'm going to write a book one day about my decade of time at one of the B4. The title? Sex, Lies, Video Tape, and Insider Trading: My Observations of Partner Behavior in the Big 4. I saw at all from the front row.

@Tax Advisor 1 - can I put down an advance on my copy?? 😋

Generally you want to stick to PwC, Deloitte, and EY. I know this is going to piss off all the KPMG people but it's what it is

like

What a meaningful contribution bdo1! Thanks for your insight

I moved from Deloitte to kpmg and to be honest it all just depends on city and service line. High level, culture is just about exactly the same so you fit in very easily moving big fours.

like

All big 4's suck period. Take it from a person from EY, GT and now a manager at KPMG.

like

@kpmg4 ... I know... I immediately thought of you when I heard it. I was like... some partners didn't get that memo.

like

Mid size market - love Kpmg! Was told pay is better too. Also depends on the office culture. End of the day, ppl/$$matter!

Deloitte

im in a mid size market...love KPMG. wouldnt consider EY or PWC

like

I'm with you @KPMG6. I'm all about that blue kool-aid and don't even care.

like

@ kpmg6 completely untrue. KPMG hired me.

like

I'm at EY and it sucks. Haha.

like

Agreed PWC1. I've had people tell me they'd rather go to a midsize than KPMG, even with the big 4 label. Not sure why it's considered so awful though

Are companies looking to hire more minorities and people who identify as LGBTQ+? I saw a post about a job listing for a Big 4 and it said it had a strong preference for people who identify as LGBTQ+ or a minority racial group. Working as an audit staff in big 4 shared service centre. It's been 2 years. I really don't like what I do there, also it seems I won't like what I'll be doing there even after becoming senior. Thinking of leaving and joining industry once ACCA qualified. (One more paper left). But people around me discourage that growth potential and earnings in industry are way less compared to public accounting. I know that too but I still want to leave. I'd like to stick to core accounting. Thoughts pls
