Hey, Chi. First time caller.
So I'm considering a switch from law to consulting, and noticed EY has started posting salary ranges for positions. All the mid- to senior-level jobs I'm looking at are in the $95k to $150k range. Is that right? True for all the big 4? Seems super low. I guess I never thought about it before but how exactly do you folks get paid?

I am an incoming analyst at a B4 consulting firm and completed an internship last summer. I networked with some managers and principals in areas of interest. Is it appropriate to send my resume to these very senior individuals 1 month prior to joining the firm to ask for potential staffing opportunities? Not sure about the etiquette in reaching out for staffing opportunities. My worry is if I wait till I reach I'll get staffed on a long-term project that doesn't align with my interests.

Something is telling me to follow my instincts and look for other opportunities. I have an interview coming up with a big 4 firm and I am nervous about that. Please any tips, advice, you can provide will be much appreciated. Thank you!

Which Big 4 firms still give partners lifetime pensions? I know EY and KPMG stopped lifetime pensions.
Is there such things as FP&A positions in Big 4? If so, are there better times to make the change than others (I.e. at senior vs manager)? I’m currently in FP&A and looking to work at a Big 4, or another company that offers the ability to move abroad. My current company and many others I know about do not offer the mobility to do so until much later, which is not what I want. Thank you.
Anyone can refer me to audit experienced associate in big 4? I am more than willing to give up my current pay in private company and join big 4 for billable hours to upgrade my career. I do have 4 years of Deloitte audit experience before this. Would it be better to join one in India and then try to move a few years later ?

I am bored being an HR! Tech and coding fascinate me, and I am considering switching my career to IT after being an HR for quite some time. I would love for you to recommend the next course of action/next steps. What courses do you recommend to a beginner like me, I would appreciate it if any of you could provide an action plan to get into IT mainstream. I am serious about this and have a vision to see myself in the role in the next 2-3 years. I know nothing is impossible. Thx.

FDD exit ops from Senior level?
I don’t understand how to adjust capitalized sales commissions to the cash basis. Can anyone help?
Is the learning curve from FDD to restructuring pretty big? Thinking about switching since the FDD job market is dry and I’m seeing a lot of restructuring positions. Also curious about the WLB, is it similar to FDD?
Are these numbers reliable ? https://www.salary.com/research/salary/employer/pwc/financial-due-diligence-fdd-senior-associate-salary
What are good exit ops as a manager 5-6 years in public? I’ve heard the longer you stay in public the less exit opportunities you have. What should one be looking for at this point? Is there a “make a decision” point where it’s too late to leave?
First year as a Manager here (TAG) and my ye bonus is over $100k. Blown away. I keep hearing insane numbers about people who’ve been here even longer. Curious how others did?!
Any partners willing to share what their comp is,what it looked like when they first made partner and what size firm they're with?
Kroll FDD S2 equivalent comp?
Is it worth going to a smaller firm like Crowe, Baker Tilly, etc in order to break into FDD? Or should I keep looking at Big 4? I'm coming from risk advisory (current S1 CPA), so the switch seems very difficult.
My rotation opportunity here is on hold indefinitely due to covid, and from the firm's side, they prefer external hires from audit (good experience, steal them from other B4, no transfer politics).
I have an interview with a small real estate PE firm for a RE acquisition analyst role. What are some good questions to ask the MP I’ll be interviewing with?
FDD >>>> MC - my team is hiring associates and seniors. DM me for more details!
Why is Ryan sharing his name
If they’re both B4 you can’t go wrong. I would be careful about management consulting though because there are a lot of shitty jobs that brand themselves as “management consulting”
IT audit has entered the chat lol
MC is better in a generic sense (there are a lot of different MC groups like financial management, CIO advisory, people & change...), but if you're in audit, it's way easier to transfer into FDD than MC. All depends on your personal interests too though.
Isn’t it much harder to get into MC than FDD?
Yeah. I think by and large the real “management consulting” jobs aren’t going to take an auditor. Best bet is to go back for an MBA or start at a small shop. FDD will take anyone.
