Looking for recommendations to generally upskill my Strategy work (or learn from scratch) — be it courses, classes, books, podcasts, people to follow.

For context, I’m a freelance Social Media Manager/Strategist and I came into Ad world via Startups. Throwing myself into learning on the job with more Strategy gigs - but I still don’t feel like I quite know the lingo or best practices or theories.

What courses would you recommend (or avoid) to improve my overall management skills? I am reading books, articles and my company provides me with a career coach. I am 38, and don't really want to go back to school. I have my BS in Psychology, but am a Director in Finance. Don't necessary want the cost that comes with an MBA.

If you didn’t come from a quant background, how did you get over analytics anxiety? What are ways for me to safely learn and practice my excel/modeling/quant communication skills? I’m always beating myself up (and making errors) when doing analytics on a time crunch.

I also worry about how I could be perpetuating gender stereotypes by being the girl on the team who is “more qualitative than quantitative.” For context, my background before consulting was nonprofits.

Does it bother you when someone you care about won't let you treat them (like on special occasions such as birthdays and stuff)?
