I’m working with a leader from LinkedIn Sales Solutions and they want me to come speak to their team on how consulting sells so they can better support professional services firms. I’m trying to figure out an easy framework to explain it. What are some specific nuances of our selling that I’m missing:

1. Practice: Function vs. industry vs. Account

2. Pipeline: BD to find opps vs. RFPs

3. People: MDs/Partners are the “sellers” but analysts, managers, and SMs do a lot of the heavy lifting

I have two questions. I have 10 years of experience in multiple sectors and I have been trying to gain a leadership position. I am attempting my PHR this summer but what are some tips in order for me to obtain a leadership position? Also, how long does it take to obtain another position out of state? I am trying to move to Houston but I don’t want to move until I am confident I can obtain a position in the city before packing up and leaving.

I was presented with a great opportunity with my current employer that I had to turn down - required relocation. Now I’m feeling defeated and disconnected. I’m tired of putting out fires everyday and feeling like I’m walking on ice (mostly due to being a overachiever). I can’t stop thinking of the what ifs. Not really sure what the question is but just need some reassurance, I guess?

I was the only female working in an office full of male analysts. My CEO didn't realize I was there, and went on and on about the last (and only other) female to leave the company, and asked if anyone knew if she ever in her life had a boyfriend because she seemed like such a b*+ch.... She didnt talk much, but I related due to the blatant uncomfortable sexism around the office. I recently left for other similar and worse remarks. They denied giving me my bonus (2 weeks away). Hello fellow HR pros! I really need your opinions on HR certifications. I am deciding between PHR and SHRM-cp. I have read just about all there is online comparing the two and can not decide. My heart is telling me PHR, my mother in law (an HRBP) is telling me to go with SHRM, as it’s more widely recognized, more established and a larger network in general. I work for a 350~ company who is growing rapidly through M&A. Passions/interests are compliance, strategic vision, M&A, branding and culture

I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!

It has now been two days and I have not heard from the recruiter the HR Director that would be my manager nor anyone else that I’ve interviewed with. Do I send an email to ask about an update? I’m very antsy! Thank
