600 MDs in a company of 500,000 isn't that many.
Whatever the number, it's more than they have now.
I spent many years there as an SM, and I would often go weeks without seeing an MD. And then it was just to meet with the client buyers.
MDs at ACN basically just sell, they provide very little oversight or true governance. That's a miss, and they need more bodies in that role.
See description....these are "diversity" promotions to hit the "right" representations.

This was already discussed in our internal bowl OP. The number of MD promotes is lower this year compared to last year, commensurate with the drop in promotions across all levels.

Fire everyone at the high range of the pay scales, then hire cheaper replacements?
It’s basically what D did this summer. We fired a ton of analysts-managers and are just now bringing in all the campus hires that had their start dates delayed
We have regular promotion cycles where we do everyone in a big group.
Its everywhere in consulting.
Also if you don’t promote they leave ?

I am curious about if pay raises went along with title changes when multiple NA folks I talked to didn’t get simple cost of living raises.
