We just got our oath ceremony scheduled. The appointment letter says “no guests permitted” except for anyone helping with disability. We have a toddler, and no option for babysitter since we have no family here and everything is still closed. Any idea if a dependent minor can accompany us? Tried calling them and haven’t been able to reach a person to speak to yet.
Don't you love it when you work for a sick firm and then you find out that Jon Snow dies AGAIN in season 7. Btw spoiler alert! But shit man. Read the books, he dies again for good. Work sucks. Ahhhhh
Lol my firm halted all sales travel but continued client travel. Just waiting for someone to get sick so I can sleep in my own bed for more than 8 nights a month
Got an incredible project and right before starting they told me I had to do a drug test. I am not 100% sure if Ill pass it and I am not sure I should risk it. Any advice? Risk it or say something?
Hello All, I have a question about Ey Health insurance. My MIL is sick and now admitted in hospital. I had taken second set parental insurance for her. Will they be covering all the hospital expenses. Is there any exclusions. Can someone help me on this Thanks
Hi All, Deloitte sent LOI with 8.5LPA+medical+0-10% Variable for Analyst designation and my current org package is 4.76LPA with 4YOE. How much can i bargain for extra ? and How can i ask ?
What do you do when you legitimately have run out of PTO because you’re sick a lot? I take prescribed medication that weakens my immune system but don’t want to explain that if I can avoid it.
I'm sick of the generalist track... what are the options to do something else but still stay a "first class citizen" of the McK community?
I'm kind of sick of every small thing becoming a feedback discussion. I don't think my manager is remotely motivating or helpful, especially when the mistakes are theirs as well.
I took my first sick day at my new job. I am back today now some people are barely talking to me. Barely anyone asked if I am doing better. I find it a bit strange. I'm not expecting much but not even a fake pretend to care that I am doing better. My other jobs were not like this. This is more a vent than anything.
After how long/under what circumstances does traveling 'get old'? Always liked the traveling aspect of consulting but after talking to experienced consultants it seems like they are sick of it.
Got a job offer making much more money as a controller. High potential for CFO promo in 5yrs. I'm 30 and ill be supervising 40-50year old women. Should I be nervous about that?
10w 🤰🏻, traveling at the moment and prenatal vitamins are really making me sick. I throw up whenever I take them, but that’s my only source of folic acid. Is it risky to not take them?
Let’s hear some stories of adversity and overcoming challenges. Socioeconomic, race, gender, disability etc. Work or personal. I think we all need some inspiration that we can overcome, no matter what.
I’ve never been unintelligent, but does anyone else feel manipulated to think so by leadership? It almost feels like a sick game how leadership talks down to AEs...
I have this problem that I picked up from my father growing up: can’t effectively communicate negative feelings to people that I’m close with. I sort of expect them to know, and when they don’t get it or don’t show efforts that I’m expecting to receive, I start to distance myself from them and shut down. I started to reflect back on why I do this, and sense that this is some kind of a sick way of showing I have more power over the other person. How can I fix this?
Is it okay to tell your boss you aren’t feeling well and need to take a sick day because of medication side effects? We are going into the office later in the week and I don’t want her to think I have something contagious. Started new meds and the side effects are intense today so I’m just off my game and need to log off, but not sure if that’s inappropriate or TMI.
Recently lateralled to a new firm and I have mild “PTSD” from my old firm 😶 everything from the way docs are saved on the system, file naming, email writing style, team conventions etc - I keep thinking any small mistake would get me yelled at / be at the receiving end of snarky or passive aggressive emails but people at my new firm are so lovely and far from that. I’m trying really hard to move past this and my new colleagues are probably getting sick of my questions 😂 Anyone else can relate?
How many people have gotten sick of accounting and switched to something different like resource management? How was the experience?
unpopular opinion… but i feel like my bf is too passive, to the point he doesn’t seem to care as much. Whenever I get sick all he says is “oh no feel better!” And doesn’t text until I say I’m feeling better. I’ve explained to him that I like to feel taken care of in cases where I’m sick and I reciprocate when he is. He says he’s giving me space so I explained that I would wish he can offer help or ask questions like so. But he still reverts to the same response. How should I process this?
Does anyone have experience with Forensic and Litigation Consulting at FTI? I’m curious to know what the work is like as well as the hours, culture, and WLB.
LA people... Does anyone live in SW? Have a potential project and looking into locations. Long Beach, Seal Beach, Huntington Beach?
Accenture folks- assuming you all use CWT to book flights.. Any JetBluers know of a way to avoid missing out on the extra JetBlue points you get from booking flights on their website?
I have done analytics and operations consulting for 9 years and I don’t like anymore. If there is even a remote chance of getting hired for product management role, I would like to take it. I am reading the books on PM and polishing my resume, are there any other things that I should keep in mind?
I am going to get a promotion next year and I have to chose between managing a person or picking 10 accounts in the healthcare sector to grow. In both cases I will have a target of 3-4 Million Usd. I do Healthcare consulting based in Singapore. Any views or suggestions based on experience?
Planning to see my east coast SO (I’m in west coast): should I consider driving instead of flying? Never done cross country trip before and I have a month PTO from my project.
Sen. Durbin says he is worried that reviewing 3 provisions passed by House will inundate Parliamentarian. Not sure why they hate EB green card applicants so much. While I understand the lots of opposition to S386 from ROW even though there was no harm provisions, deafening silence from them on showing any solidarity now is just sad.
Wondering why tech companies place such a large emphasis on the office space and culture (and they are, mostly, thriving) while most banks hardly bat an eye about it...
I had a lot of meetings/interviews with a service line and office I was thinking of transferring. The last time I had a call with a partner was two Fridays ago (10 days). And they told me they’ll discuss and let me know in the next week. I sent a follow up email after my meeting. But haven’t heard anything back. Is it a bad sign? Or should I try reaching out again?
Anyone have tools they’ve given their parents to help them learn / be more comfortable with technology as they WFH? My dad has been struggling having to rely more on computers / technology since he has started WFH. He’ll call me to help, but oftentimes I can’t sit through and help him figure it out since I am also working. Usually I’d just do it for him since it’s faster but in the long run him not knowing how to do things is stressing us both out. Any recs on training tools, etc he could use?
Looking for client side opportunities in construction in Pune. Any role into facilities, maintenance, plant engineering will work. Any leads??
About toxic work culture, will you know it when you see it? what if it was your first job: what would be a red flag for you that the culture was toxic?

If you get laid off as green card holder, do you have to go back to your home country? Can I take contract jobs while searching for full time?
This isn’t just about blue collar labor + day laborers. This would have a drastic effect on talent and diversity in advertising and other industries. Trump has no idea how important foreign labor is. https://www.bostonglobe.com/news/nation/2020/04/20/trump-says-will-suspend-immigration-over-virus-concerns/VFg3xBtttoPrFZYpYj5GbN/story.html
Hi I’m hiring a recruiter role in the US. Looking for someone with experience in a software company and who can be Atlanta or east coast time zone. Can be fully remote. Salary c$60k plus 10% bonus and recruitment fee for each direct and referral placement you make (which could add c$30k+ to earnings) we have a great selection of company benefits. Is this package attractive? There’s great opportunity for career development and the company is growing so lots of new roles. We are international too!
Going to grow out my hair super long till end of next year for Covid-19, probably only cutting it after I go back to the office. I reduce risk by not getting a haircut, I get to put it in a bun and keep it away from heat and I'll be donating the 12 inches of growth to cancer wigs. Convinced my hubby to do the same, man bun style. Who's with me?
