Recently had our first child. It's really making me think twice about my career path. For those of you with kids, is the job worth it? I feel like I'm losing out on so many memories already.

How do you explain your job to ppl?
- your friends
- girl/guy you meet in a seedy bar
- mother who still thinks you should be a Dr
- generally ppl who ask what a consultant is?

Ever get that sinking feeling when another mom is so interested in your child’s progress - because she’s constantly comparing it against her child’s progress. We can discuss so many other topics exhaustively and in depth; Why do we need to go over every nuance of what the kids are doing! They all move at their own pace, and sometimes they leap frog each other. I need tactful and effective ways of moving the conversation away from the kids - suggestions welcome!

Did anyone have better luck getting pregnant after losing weight? I could stand to lose some weight (not obese), and am wondering if I should just focus on that or push ahead with Clomid.

Any other women who are not mothers - work out 4-5x a week, eat healthy & drink lots of water but STILL can't lose weight/ get rid of their "gut". Or is it just me?! 😩🤣 If I had had a baby I would at least have a justifiable reason to have this lower belly fat that's hard to get rid of but…no excuse in sight. Been at it for 2 years lol and at this point I am almost convinced that I'm destined to be a fit person with lots of belly fat ...

Started with a new law firm in a new practice area in the fall. Now I’m pregnant with my second child and due this summer. The firm offers up to 4 months of leave. I can’t think of a good reason why I would shorten my leave despite being relatively new at the firm and in the practice area. I’m honestly concerned I will resent it if I do. Would you shorten your leave under these circumstances? If so, why?

For those that are TTC, or currently pregnant - would you get vaccinated? I’m concerned about potential side effects of the vaccine on the fetus. CDC states “if you’re trying to get pregnant, you do not need to avoid pregnancy after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine.”

So, what if your kid is in a 6 person Montessori class with no interaction outside of their “pod”, serious disinfection and prevention practices and all the other parents are super socially conscious and aware. 2 teachers per classroom and no infections during summer school on campus.

When you switch out to new employer, is HR ask for relieving and experience letter of ALL the previous employers since start OR just the last employer ?

Cause want to join a company(y) they are ready to give me job without reliving letter, cause my current company(x) not giving me experience letter and reliving letter and just letting me go.

If in future I want to switch will they ask me about relieving let of x company too or will be fine with y company's reliving letter..

At this point how do people feel about police unions? Are they inherently bad bc they promote interests of the police v the people they serve? Would same apply to teachers unions (and is there systemic racism in teaching we need to dismantle)? Are public sector unions bad?

I’ve see a lot of people siding with Elon on not taxing the wealthy. As someone who is pro reducing taxes, my only issue is that taxes are a way to redistribute money, and due to every single recent tax break going to the top, money is being distributed up so the top % keep accumulating more and more money.
