The salary may be commensurate with your experience. I don’t know about your specific situation, but the hours may accurately reflect the present circumstances. I find I am working longer hours, without the commute, but also have more balance being able to take my kids to their limited activities and with more flexibility to take breaks. When I was in my early 20s, I worked a job over 100 hours a week and the pay sucked. But it was largely due to my inexperience. I should have been making far more, but there were good reasons to make that investment.

If you're taking an hour of breaks throughout the day (lunch, a walk, a personal call or email), that's really just a 10-hour day. Pretty standard for most professional salaried positions.

Yep, that’s why I’m concerned - in fairness I work for an NGO - but they’re very well funded still
