Sensitive question, but when does a mental health challenge become a performance issue?

I’ve suffered from anxiety and depression so I’m not unsympathetic and recently restarted therapy for myself and have a colleague with anxiety issues who’s become difficult to work with. People have raised the issue but they refuse to get treatment and there’s been no consistent improvement after more than a year. It’s becoming a real issue with multiple people.

Was there ever a time when no one in your life cared for you? Everyone too busy with their lives? Your attempts to build connections failing. How did you get over it?

I find it hard to have hookups and simultaneously look for a relationship. If I’m hooking up with people, I reject anyone who has feelings for me because I would be letting them down. If im looking for a relationship, I feel grossed out by hooking up with someone since it feels meaningless. It’s like a switch flips in me and I don’t know how people are able to do both at the same time.
