This is 50 percent of consulting, you’re new. Troubleshoot your concerns with one of the other SM that seems competent, perhaps discuss with MD and see if there is a SME you could work with at the firm
Unfortunately this engagement was destined to be challenging and had high likelihood of failure bcos the MD that sold this didn't know the tech he was getting into, nothing was solutioned, there were no reqs etc. We were all hired and just thrown in. all this to say that I'm worried for myself and my career... Esp since we were sold (in classic ACN fashion I hear) to help solve their problems and their problems aren't...solvable. Any advice on how to protect myself here?
Yes, I should've mentioned that I am - well all is SMs are - helping them by isolating the issues. My question was more around how much should I worry ... career wise, I mean. My first project and it's a dump. But seems like this is part and parcel of consulting?
