This is my first summer living in the city and I'm determined to make the most of it. What should make sure is on my summer bucket list?
Food, festivals, activities, anything

The Chicago toasters group!

Go to as many neighborhood festivals as you can: Logan, Wicker, Pilsen… take a few random days off and just go chill in the park. Enjoy walks around neighborhoods during the spring/summer and notice the different waves of flower bloomings. Get to some rooftop bars. On the hottest days take the water taxi for a leisurely drift from Michigan Ave down to Chinatown and enjoy the view while roasting then walk/eat around Chinatown. Ride a bike everywhere (no Ubers unless it’s really late or really really far). Hang with friends on the lakefront (I enjoy the Fullerton area), bring snacks, drinks and jump in the lake on a toasty day.

Depends on age but if you are on the younger side- lolla, Saturday cubs game in the bleachers, batting cages at sluggers, spend a day in Chinatown, Field museum, science and industry museum, beach volleyball

Is there really value in a top MBA on sponsorship if you're already at MBB and looking to stay in consulting for at least the medium term (and potentially long term)? Assume I don't need "a fun break", which seems to be common rationale. On a personal level, the time spent in long distance with my wife + two years of lost income hurts. But if there are long term benefits, I may stomach it.

I am a sixth-year associate overseeing a second year. They are an exceptionally good associate. I am honestly shocked at the work product I receive and the way they go above and beyond. The issue I have is that they sometimes take awhile to turn things around. For example, I ask for a draft response to the client, and they take three-four days. I know they’re busy, but I would like to address this in a positive way. Any suggestions?

Anxiety before your sales demos?

Do these 2 things I used to do to get over it:

1. Know the product inside out - it will take time for you to gain confidence in your sales abilities but if you know the product will you’ll be more confident in that domain.

2. Do more demos - the more calls and presentations you do the more comfortable you’ll get. My advice is to try to get on a lot of presentations, even with leads that aren’t so good.

Highly considering moving to Chicago from NYC at the end of this year and looking at West Loop, Streeterville, River North, and anything in the Loop north of Madison.

Though I am getting very concerned about the “crime” I keep hearing about. I used to think that crime in Chicago was just in the ‘bad’ parts very south or west of wherever I planned on living but now that I’m paying attention to the news in Chicago more .. (continued in comments)
