this is perhaps a DC/Tysons office specific question, but does anyone expense the $30-$40 tolls on I-66 everyday? as opposed to taking the parkway?

Totally against policy at PwC to expense commuting charges

like

Id imagine that $300 a week would get busted pretty quickly lol. And obviously, more importantly, is wrong.

like

Oh i thought you meant to the office. If it’s to a client site and would save significant time I’d probably try and run it through here and there haha

The best question to ask is: if cornered by a partner or client and asked about it, can you comfortably explain and justify there cost? If the answer is yes, then expense. If they answer is no, then don’t. Also, be sure there is no policy in complete contradiction.

like

that's a bit much. I see plenty of people do it when it's under $5 on 495 or 267

Does anyone else think 30-40 dollars a day in toll charges is nuts? I get pissed when I pay 5 to go to Chicago

How hard is everyone pushing their corporate clients to authorize nonresident assignees whose only 2020 US compensation was the value of their 2019 tax preparation?
My clients are pushing back on it this year, and I can't say I blame them. If I were in their shoes, I'd rather take the risk of not filing than the expense of filing again. From my own point of view, I don't really want to spend my time on such returns, either, even if the revenue and easy return are nice.

Have any of you approached your employer for reimbursement for being asked to use your phone at work? Specifically things like texting your boss while they are in court? I started a new job and am trying to set boundaries but this is one that I cannot set as it is standard practice. In our state, an employer must reimburse you if they direct you to use your personal phone for work. It seems petty, but I’m trying to (rightfully) cash in on something that I would rather not have to do.

I want to save more and so many people suggest stop eating out and cook at home. I hate cooking especially the clean up afterwards, but I usually cook 4-5 days a week. We are a family of 5 so by the weekend I am done cooking and just want to relax. My ask is how to enjoy cooking at home andwhat else can I do to save other than not eat out?
