Have you ever felt uncomfortable treating a patient? I don't feel unsafe, and the patient isn't making me uncomfortable physically or anything, I am just seriously disturbed by the discussions we're having about what they're going through. I've been working at this hospital 4 years and this is the first time this has ever happened. Is it wrong to consider asking for a transfer?

For those with more experience in the industry: How secure are agency jobs in a bear market or recession? Do layoffs tend to happen? I lived through COVID but my agency didn’t have tons of layoffs. Just a few here and there.

My fit bit showed me that I’m sleeping less than 4.5 hours every night. Which is pretty accurate from when I go to sleep to when I wake up. Gotta love being a lawyer

I am so behind with my preventive medicine at 45. I have a strong HX of certain cancers within my family and have had abnormal findings on tests in the past. My PCP is in the Boston hospital I work at and still won’t let me schedule them and it’s making me uneasy. Just wanted to post an update. 68 weeks ago I posted about my drinking problems. It was bad. It’s been 8 months now without a single drink. I still can’t believe it. I still miss drinking. I’ve sat with coworkers and watched them drink. It’s not nearly as fun, but I am so thankful each morning I can hold my head up high. Will I drink again? I only said I would quit for 60 days. Can I have a beer? Some wine? A fine bourbon? I sometimes crave it. I guess there is the answer! You can all do this!

Is anyone familiar with a theory that covid tests are poison? We have a family member that won’t even test because she believes the nasal swap is dangerous and infected with something. She is the only one I’ve heard this theory from and am wondering what she’s talking about.
