This is so sad, I didn’t face any racist comments at EY but some of my colleagues did make me feel like a 2nd class citizen.

Australia has a long history of racism so it's sad but not surprising.

Racism is often commonly ingrained in other countries. Rise of China and COVID has caused a wave of anti Asian sentiment in my country. Very tragic.

Man, that title is a word salad...

It’s the Daily Mail though. They are going to go with the most sensational bent. Not saying that it wasn’t a contributing factor, but they are completely ignoring any underlying mental health issues.

Have you ever tasted what racism is?

I had a brown Aussie friend in b school and I was shocked by how much they were gaslit into thinking the racist stuff their friends said to them on the daily was just a joke and helped build rapport. I mean this is a different level of denial.

100% agree with this.

I worked at EY Australia and it was constant micro aggressions. I did notice (and report) more insidious things happening to a colleague though.

Asian are treated very poorly in Australia and used as the boogey man in TV news. Often physically attacked and told to go back to where they come from in public settings.

like

Australia is very covertly racist, while holding a deep reluctance to talk about race relations. At least the US appears to be more actively dealing with it.

Wtf is that title? What is the mean iq of a dailymail editor.

Very very low

The White Australia policy only ended in 1966, and while there are still traces of this ugly history, things are getting better with the younger generation becoming more aware of these things

Yup some of the things said in the office when I came from the uk I had to check but outside the office it was much much worse!

“Mean”

“Building fall”? Pretty sure this is inaccurate based on other article

I despise euphemisms like this. It’s a suicide. Call it one. She killed herself because her work environment was so toxic and crushing that she felt no alternative but to take her own life.

For those who have obtained the CFF certification:
I was asked to put together a working plan to obtain my CFF credential. I’m aware of the 2 certificate program (Core and Specialized) through the AICPA that will lead to the CFF. Does anyone have experience in how long it would take to complete the certificates and if there are other necessary or helpful study materials that would be useful? For background, I’m 6 months into working at this firm and have touched a variety of cases.

I was laid off today. I have 4 years experience in both sales and recruiting (heavier in sales). I’m devastated and also know it’s time to get into something different. With 4 (almost 5) years of SaaS sales experience I’m looking for advice to pivot into marketing, analyst, and customer success roles. I’m mostly interested in understanding the growth paths within marketing segments and how I can translate my marketing software sales experience into a marketing role. Any insight is appreciated.

Hoping I can get some insight into Microsoft customer success manager compensation to help me negotiate an offer. Offer is $115k, 15% annual bonus, and $20k in stock. They told me I'd be coming in at level 62. Base is quite a bit lower than my current salary. Hoping to get 25k - 30k more to match my current salary. Do you guys think it's doable?

Has anyone done the pre-screening questionnaire during the hiring process at Booz Allen and if so, what was your experience? I havent had the last interview yet. This is just a pre-screening questionnaire that they give prospective hires who do not have active security clearance to gauge how long it will take to go through the clearance process. I’m concerned that they may not hire me if they deem me as taking too much time to move through. Thoughts?
