This is super specific... but any moms here had a breast reduction or breast surgery of any kind and have any trouble breast feeding? I had a reduction at 20 and am now pregnant with my first at 30. Curious if I will be able to breast feed and trying to learn from others that have been through this what this might look like for me. Thank you ❤️

Reduction at age 24 and first kid at age 33 (2nd kid at age 36). I could nurse a little bit for each but also supplemented with formula because I wanted to make sure they got enough. Your ability will in part depend on the specifics of your surgery. I recommend telling the maternity ward when you check in to deliver that you are interested in breast feeding and to get you set up with a lactation consultant ASAP. Assuming you are delivering in a hospital.

like

Find a lactation consultant separate from the hospital before you deliver. Contact her, let her know your concerns. And if possible, have her available to come visit you in the hospital or at home as soon as she can. Even if you did not have concerns about the effects of your reduction, I would recommend this. BFing was so, so hard for me to figure out, but I wasn’t prepared for that difficulty because the books I read really didn’t tell me that maybe Baby just won’t latch, maybe Baby just won’t be interested, whatever. They were all very, “Do XYZ, and just keep trying! It’ll work!” When I finally met with a consultant (ten days after birth), there was a ton of excellent advice she gave me and it helped immediately, but by then we’d already started feeding my son pumped milk from a bottle, so he just wasn’t interested in the boob. I think if I had met with her much sooner, I may have been able to really make it work.

I had a lumpectomy at 22 and gave birth at 35. The lactation consultant said depending on how the surgery was done I may have issues but I’ve been fine. I think my supply is slightly lower on that side, but any difference is very minor. Good luck!

Confession...I hate reading. Always have since I was a kid. My eyes feel heavy and I get instantly bored / feel like I’m going to fall asleep no matter what time of day it is or where I am. I WANT to like to read bc I know it will improve my professional / personal life. Anyone else struggle with this and have tips or suggestions? I listen to audibles and watch the news, but at the end of the day I just need to train myself to like reading. Thanks in advance!

I am currently on leave after having my baby and received word from my boss/owner of the agency that we are downsizing. He communicated a decrease of my hours from full time to part time upon my return. I have a great set of skills that have made me successful in my unique position (graphic design for advertisements, logo creation, marketing initiatives, office swag) in addition to being a licensed insurance agent. Does anyone have any advice for how I navigate this change?

If you got a job offer and were under 12 weeks pregnant, would you say anything? I’m not pregnant (or currently employed haha) but i just did ivf and am considering doing my transfer next month, so thinking ahead. I know to ask about their leave policy. Also assuming if it’s freelance you don’t bother telling them at all unless if conflicts with your due date.

I intend to get an abortion once it's confirmed.

Had a consultation with an attorney for legal advice on my options to address a late filing for a taxable event. They recommended me two options: file or not file. In order to help him with the consultation he asked to send him additional information like bank statements and work authorization which I sent.

If I decide to not file or go to another attorney if the fees are high, can the attorney still report me or whistle blow me to the tax authorities?

Question regarding a trend I'm seeing on applications: I'm currently a Recruiting Manager with an agency and one of my big responsibilities is reviewing all incoming applications/resumes. I'm starting to see a trend with the majority of the ones lately where the applicant's resume shows they had just started a new job within the last 6 months but before that, they had pretty great tenure. I'd love to hear the "why" if this describes you as I'm just curious since this hasn't been the case prior.
