People keep asking if I'm up for promotion and I've only been here a year (so I am not). Flattered I guess?
Have any of you ever been in a situation where you are on an hourly contract and they don’t want you to bill more than 40 hours a week, and instead of paying you your hourly rate for the extra hours, they try to knock a few hours off of a slower day? If so, what did you do.

My dad is a bit financially strict (borderline financially abusive) to my mom, so I want to set up a way to give her allowance money regularly on the DL. In a fortunate position where I could have a job offer for a really exciting opportunity by the end of the week. But... it sounds like it’s going to be a ton of work, and I’m battling a year’s-worth of burn out. I’m not sure if I’m up for it, and I keep debating just quitting my current job and moving back to my parents’ house for a few months. How did you know it was time to push through vs take a step back? (I know it’s highly personal, but could use some perspective.)
What is the culture like at Facebook? Thinking of exiting into a product owner role or just general pmo type of role. Good company to work for?
Seems like this is a good place to get a reality check on what I am looking for in a position. I am trying to leave my current firm. I am a Senior Tax Accountant. Been the only Senior for a year. Currently make $76k. Had a bonus of $4500 this year. Not sure what the bonus is going to be next year (or if there will be any) since they are moving to a new bonus plan that is supposed to be more "fair and generous" We have a Safe harbor 401k plan. So get an automatic 3% contribution to 401K.
