It's normal in that I hear this often, but shouldn't be your normal. You gotta find or make your own happiness. If you aren't happy and/or can't improve your happiness, then you should leave.
Yes, its normal however it doesn't mean it has to be that way.
It all depends on what is driving that level of unhappiness. Is it a specific manager/team that you’re working with? Is it the thought of all of the administrative work? First try to identify the component of it that makes your chest clench up and then go from there. If it’s the entire package, I would look to pivot to a different type of employment. You could try a start up company as that is going to be the other end of the spectrum. If you try that and like it, then maybe that’s for you or you could start to explore companies that fall somewhere in the middle. Public accounting has very stark pros and cons.
