Are there ANY Am Law 20 firms (even 50 and up), where billing 200 monthly is acceptable? Like any? Do tell.

Note: Some am law firms say no billable hour requirement, but that’s only because you bill 3x over.

Is there a reason to give notice on a Friday vs. any other day of the week if you tell your firm your notice period will end two weeks from that Friday?

Those of you with billable years starting Jan 1… how many hours are you at for the year (and year/group)

I’m an IP associate (focused mainly on trademarks) in an AMLaw 200 firm (slightly below NY market pay) and I’m curious to know what IP groups (mainly trademark related practices) at V50 firms are like. My practice is relatively chill. No major fires to put out - steady and predictable 8-9 billable hours a day. I can generally not work on weekends. Am I at a unicorn shop or is this normal for Trademark practices?

2nd year associate here: I just saw that my realization rate is like 73%. Is that good, normal, or bad? I know it’s not something I should be too worried about (I’m on track to hit my billable target and then some) but I’d rather know where I’m at. Thanks!
