Not sure how one sleeps if this is true.
Hi Everyone,
I just received an offer to work as an software sales representative (SDR) for IBMs Z systems. I'm coming as a sales engineer in the cloud security space. Can anyone advise me on whether Z systems are something worth going into? Also what do the growth opportunities look like at IBM? Is there opportunity for lateral movement onto other teams? Not too sure how I feel about working on mainframes (Z systems) but they keep pitching hybrid cloud to me. IBM

This need to be called out. Black artists complain about lack of diversity at these shows and events and then just don’t want to show any support for black media.
Devil's advocate, ( undergrad in Public Relations) the higher you get in your career, the better your staff should get. For celebs that aren't hands on and actually tell their pub to make sure they clear questions and schedule time with the black media there too, it probably won't happen. And if you are hands off you just expect your staff to take care of everything and take you to who you need to speak to based on what you need publicity for (ie a new movie, book, deal etc.) It's not necessarily right, but it also may not be an intentional snub either. Anyone who isn't properly/previously cleared will be lucky to get any content. Relationship management goes both ways and the black-owned media teams need to be extra vigilant in garnering relationships with publicists ahead of these events so they can be put on lists.
I appreciate the insight, I just wish black artists would feel a sense of responsibility to make a sincere and concerted effort to show support for black owned media outlets. They expect their support when times are tough or their careers are on the decline, but flock to white media when times are good.
Glad to see Misty Copeland stood up.
Has this person worked on their own brand??
Meeting with the indie artists? In the trenches with up an comers? Or do they think because they can afford a press pass and they’re the same ethnicity, it grants them access?
Many of these artists pay their dues. And publicists usually know exactly who’s whom on that carpet.
This video itself was a stunt for traction. They didn’t have to make about them being black. But because it triggers people that black doesn’t support black it’s done it’s job. Well done. Now what’s the next play?
