This might be a dumb question but are you allowed to disclose who your clients are in an interview? E.g., if you worked on matters for a Fortune 500, can you name that company in your interview?

If anything linking you to that client is public domain, then yes. For example, if you’re in litigation and a judgment includes you as counsel for that client.

Otherwise no, it’s privileged.

You can talk about publicly filed matters.

Agreed with above- I usually say something that places the size of the company in my example during interviews- they do above xx in revenue a year, have more than xx number of customers or employees, etc. this way, I can talk about the work without violating anything. Or just general description- “a large teaching hospital” or “a national grocery store”

If the deal has signed and there's a press release or publically filed docs on it, identities are completely ok. Otherwise, in an interview, I wouldn't. Just looks sloppy even if it is technically ethically ok. Always err on side of privilege. I would say something like PE client's $300M acquisition of healthcare industry business, something like that. Also personally, the more fluff someone gives on how prestigious the deal may seem on paper versus actual substantive discussion of the work they did puts me off as an interviewer. I don't care if it was $30M or $3B, I am more interested in how you resolved a complicated issue. Smaller deals often have a lot more hair actually, because every dollar actually moves the needle.

Final interview today at BCG was rough. Woke up feeling sick, but with only a couple hours before the interview decided to go through with it. Mistake.

Made a couple mistakes in both cases and did not really feel like I connected well with one of the principals. Tested positive for Covid after the interview. What are my chances like? I assume you have to be near perfect for an acceptance.

I have an interview at McKinsey and Bain so not all hope is lost, but very disappointed about today.

Hi All,

Had an interview for a Business Ops Associate role today and asked what the next steps were and told it would be a slack interview after doing an automation in Zapier test. I was told I'd have time to do the case when I said I never used Zapier before. Then suddenly they have a sudden rush to hire and email me at 11 pm their time asking in the morning to have the test completed and an interview later in the day followed by final interview Wed?

Any idea whats going on here?

Hey everyone, here are the jobs I’ve interviewed for and am expecting offers this upcoming week. Lmk which you think is best:
1- FDD at Big 4 as a Senior. Using Alteryx to automate deals process. Might have to relocate to another state.
2- Senior Financial Analyst at a Fortune 20 company. Pay will be lowest of all my options.
3- Senior Technology Analyst at a billion dollar public company. I would be doing Alteryx automation/creation of monthly reporting visual dashboards.
