You're only there for like 8 weeks. You don't want to take time off lol

like

Priorities, need to squeeze in that one week of vacation

like

Don’t think interns get PTO lol Def do not get the benefits of health insurance, company phone or 401k

like

Is this not covered in your offer letter?

like

Deloitte interns get paid by the hour. So you can have time off but not paid time off.

like

Just say you're "sick"

like

Nope

Just have the vacation planned before the internship starts and communicate with hr when I was an intern I never had any issues granted this was almost a decade ago.

Lol what????

For most companies don’t you get the standard vacation prorated to 8/52 weeks? You can probably use if needed and / or cash those days out.

We’re talking about an intern here not full time employee Companies are not obligated to give interns paid time off

Constantly hearing keeping money just siting in the bank isn’t a good idea and I should have my money “working for me”. So for someone who knows nothing about investing (other than having a 401k and opened a Roth recently), where to begin with investing/where else should I put my money? Stocks require caution due to independence requirements at my current firm.

Best consulting companies for Healthcare related projects ?

I’m rolling off my project at work. Right now, I’m not seeing any exciting healthcare projects. I feel like I’m going to have to take a nonhealthcare project to keep working. I also have some healthcare startups recruiting me. I just started in consulting 6 months ago. Should I stay in consulting and hold out for a healthcare project or look into the new company reaching out to me?

Hi there! I need some guidance. HR and global leadership rolled out some amazing new initiatives like not starting until 10 am on Mondays, no meeting Fridays and required 2 additional summer days a month. The problem is, my boss refuses to comply with the initiatives. He constantly scheduled meetings before 8 am on Mondays and after 7 pm on Fridays. He also doesn’t let me take time off. Should I go to HR? I’m really not one to complain but I’m tired and extremely burnt out. Thanks for your help!

How do LMM/MM/UMM firms in Europe (London & EU) differ from NA in terms of WLB? Know it will vary by fund and city but would be curious for some data points - have anecdotally heard of fewer full sprint weekends, fewer 3/4 am nights, and more protected vacation. Know the opposite tends to be true in consulting - so is this a one off or true more broadly?

I’d like to ask for 135k plus 10k sign-on since I’m forfeiting 5k bonus and another 8-9k in unvested 401k. Is that reasonable? I’d be ok with 130k and 5k sign-on
