Haha before all the funny business
Andersen was by far #1 in the 90s and had an extremely fun and lax culture. I started in Chicago when AA was arguably the #1 firm to work for here and I remember partners hitting the downstairs bar around noon on Friday and putting a few cards down to get the party started. They used to show different billing rates to the client vs accounting to build up a large margin which would be used on crazy experiences. It's not shocking they went under.

Was def the top of the Big 5 in late 90 overall. Consulting work though was really kind of mid market work as Andersen Consulting had all the big clients.

Andersen Consulting, in the best timed rebranding ever, changed its name to Accenture in 2001, 10 months before the Enron scandal broke.
Fun fact : 800 or so of them formed Protiviti under Robert Half.
Early 90s, they were probably most prestigious of the Big 8

Aside from a key typo, this explains things. For reference, by 1999 it was the Big 6.
