This past year I’ve been feeling especially burnt out. Briefs are taking longer to click and it’s a struggle to come up with creative ideas. Even when I come back from a few days off, I find myself unable to focus on even the smallest project. I’ve thought about switching agencies or go in-house in hopes that new clients will get me excited and eager to work, but worried I’ll find myself in the same boat. The need to pay bills seems to be the only thing keeping me going. Any advice??? Plzzz
Can you take an extended break (like 2 weeks) for a good recharge? If not or that doesn’t work a change of agency could be a big help. I was burnt too and found a new employer for very similar work (and a raise) , took some vacation before starting the new gig and am easing back into it. It’s the best I have felt in years and it’s not because of new clients…which I haven’t decided yet if I am excited about but it’s because I have committed to myself that this fresh start will put my needs ahead of the company. I will work reasonable hours and I will put my well being first. If iff to gets to another uncomfortable level this is jot permanent and I can always find another position where I can reset once again.
