This popped up on my newsfeed posted by someone in my network. Deloitte basically tied with McKinsey apparently but ultimately came out slightly ahead. Thoughts?

Which is why I took this job.

These articles are as credible to consulting firms as J.D. Power awards are for cars.
Everyone knows JD Power is shit. Especially me, as I’m riding in my Dodge Ram 1500 (Motortrend Truck of the Year)

I mean it makes sense, Deloitte is more difficult to get into than Harvard so maximum prestige there

It’s Forbes. Not know for meaningful or insightful analysis.

Depends on what they mean by 'best'. Deloitte does have a significantly larger revenue base than any of the MBB firms (in fact, larger than BCG, McK and Bain combined), so it's a much larger firm with broader capabilities in some ways. I could see how from a layperson perspective, someone could conclude that Deloitte makes the most sense, since they can kind of do everything from strategy to implementation.
But at the end of the day, the Big 4 value proposition is different enough from us that we don't commonly compete with them for work at all (despite our own push into non-strategy/downstream work), so the comparison doesn't really make much sense.
I mean.. at KPMG we don’t even have to try to be the best. What is MBB anyways?
Probably the work of the bald partner. Say what you want, none of us have the luxury of rice cookers in our meeting rooms.
Good job big D!
I wouldn’t pay too much attention to this kind of pols. According to Financial Times, Accenture came clearly ahead of everyone else in UK in 2020 (See link below).
It’s nice to read this kind stuff but at the end who cares?

Lol who remembers that post from the “Managing Director (Partner)”?
You can be the number 1 consultant if you pay them enough. Their soul is essentially available for sale.
Wouldn't want to work at any of these firms lol
Yep regrets ☹️

I was at Deloitte from 2007 to 2011. It was the same story in 2008-2009, minimum salary increase and lay off Fridays. Every Friday I would chat with friends around noon to learn who got laid off. They kept salaries low for longer and people left in waves. I caught the PwC wave.
Also TBH even I think McKinsey > Deloitte in terms of delivery. Like it matters 🤣 All the same in the end.

McKinsey does it now but it's behind on anything as banal as "implementation"
Since when are we into management consulting?

It’s a Forbes article lol. Doesn’t mean much
