This question is for all the ladies who have attended bachelorette parties. Who normally buys the matching shirts/props for the all the girls to wear (including the bride)? Is it the bride or bridesmaids? And who makes the goodie bags for everyone?

Former MOH here. It’s really up to whatever the bride wants, but personally I find so much of this to be forced fun and in reality its god awful. If the bride wants matching shirts, I would suggest placing one order for all and starting a splitwise for all things bridal/bachelorette so no one feels left out for their contribution and it can all be split evenly.

Some weddings, the bride was very type A and booked/ordered half the stuff herself, others it was all MOH. Having the splitwise set up, especially for a bachelorette, is a huge headache saver and helps you not feel like it’s only one person contributing

I belatedly read your post and +1 to Splitwise. Makes things a zillion times easier.
Also as someone who loved credit card points I like to pay for things and see the money come back 🤣

being a woman sounds exhausting 😥

Oh maybe that was toward Deloitte haha

Skip the goodie bags entirely, unless it’s just “hangover cure”/first aid items.

Reach out to the guests with a google form about shirts, then MOH or a bridesmaid puts in one order. Everyone pays for their own shirt except the bride.

MOH and bridesmaids. Unless the bride has money and offers … in which case, why not let her considering how much you’re all probably spending already.

MOH and a bridesmaid or two should do the goodie bags. Honestly, keep it simple. I’ve gone to many bachelorettes including trips and it’s the activities that are planned that are truly important. Goodie bags should contribute to or enhance the activities not just be random swag/ branded items. And don’t overdo it on activities either! People just want to relax and have fun — the past two years have been exhausting.

Have fun!

If your friends are drinkers, I think hangover cure kits can be cute and practical. You can even do this as the bag — nothing else. Etsy has cute ones.

Other options: Shot glass, face mask, chap stick/ lip gloss, small SPF if beach/pool/ outdoor activities are involved, small/ travel antibacterial, mints, snacks if you’re staying at a hotel that doesn’t have a mini bar (or even that does), makeup remover wipes (travel size), mini rose water spray.

I like when the bag itself is a tote because it’s easy to pack and it’s reusable. Just don’t make it cheesy.

And keep it simple.

Bridesmaids from what I experienced

like

Depends on the bride, she and the moh should have a discussion about this and MOH should share info about this with guests and bridesmaids

like

Usually bridesmaids/MOH.
MOH usually does the ordering and organizing of most stuff and then either use Splitwise or track costs and break it down at the end

So the MOH is usually the one who coordinates the Bach including the swag, but other times they will delegate that responsibility to another bridesmaid. They typically figure out the overall cost for the bridesmaids + the bride and split it equally amongst the group so that the bride doesn’t pay for anything. I gave my bridal party gifts to ask them to be my bridesmaids and on the day of the wedding as a thank you :)

Additional Posts in New York City

My landlord and I renewed my lease a few months ago and they bumped up the rent slightly (stabilized).

They've continued to charge me my old rent, so I assume they just forgot to update the rent payment website with the new $ figure. Has anyone been in this scenario?

Wondering, at the end of the lease whether they'll just let it slide, or try back-charging me for all the "unpaid rent" I'm getting away with 🤔
