Hi :) How well do Google &StrategyOps Leaders take care of people? Interested in the real life applications one dreads having to face in a new job given lack of relationships upfront, i.e., my child has covid/in hospital, or kids school is remote for 4 wks so now I need to “juggle” life + work. IMO…LOAs, FMLA, etc don’t apply when your new. Wanting to feel safe making a move. How have you seen these situations handled for coworkers?Google

Need some advice. I just accepted a new position that starts later this summer at the beginning of July. Earlier this year I was approved for 2 weeks PTO at the end of June/early July (getting married). Where I'm at now they do not have unlimited PTO, so there is nothing they owe me when I leave. What would be the best way to handle putting in my 2 weeks notice if I want to try and still get paid my PTO before I leave?
Does anyone actually like their job? I'm in core and I absolutely hate the work. Does that mean that this isn't for me? Or is everyone just sucking it up? Does it get better?
We are still well underpaid and overworked.
Just run the math yourselves, billable hours times your billing rate. Don’t forget to take into account realization (I usually use 70% to be conservative). In most cases, firms are making ~3.5 times our annual salary per client-facing employee (e.g anuual salary of $100,000 means that the firm is grossing and collecting $350,000 in fees from clients directly attributable to your work throughout the year so they profit $250,000 after paying you).
