Confirming it is true.

Hope it is. Actions (or lack thereof) have consequences.

You have to be vaccinated to go to school (and get a job if school is a pre-req) - so it wouldn't surprise me.

Yes, this is true for anyone that isn’t pregnant, or doesn’t have religious / medical grounds for not getting vaccinated (for which you have to get approval). You also have up to 6 months of unpaid leave before you’re officially terminated. 92% of the firm is already vaccinated anyways - great to see this final shove

likefunny

I agree with you. I don’t know the numbers, but I’m guessing there aren’t that many employees to whom that exclusion would apply, and I’m also guessing their lawyers told them that firing pregnant women is a bad idea. Also, pregnancy is not a permanent condition, so there’s always a chance that someone who’s pregnant on October 31st won’t still be pregnant in time to meet the deadline.

God I wish my company’s leadership had the stones to do this

likefunny

They’ll get there. Too much $$ at stake not to do it.

I have a vaccine joke, but not everyone would get it.

Who wants to work there anyway

Yeah I am not a fan of bonus based comp structures not only because of the risk but also the timing. I prefer consistent streams of money because it’s hard to live off of future money (like rent)

This would be absolutely ridiculous if true.

Those of y’all in support of this are explicitly supporting a two-tiered system of oppression based on whether someone consents to have taxpayer-funded mystery juice pumped into their arm, that was developed by pharmaceutical corporations with tens of billions in damages in their past who are in bed with the government, with a propaganda wing that regularly censors anyone, no matter how reputable, if they speak against the system in place.

Go read a history book, ffs.

Umm... tuberculosis kills like ~500 people in the US annually.

COVID kills more than that IN A DAY!

I am shifting to Kearney but I wish I had considered A&M as well

likesmart

You still can. DM me. Ex- Kearney here.

This is one more reason I’m thinking of applying there, good signal from leadership

likefunny

Time to apply if true, they’ve won me over

likesmart

Do antibodies count if you already got it? Or do you need to also have the government buy you a vacccine? Like how you don’t need the chickenpox vaccine if you already got it.

M1, did you read the UChicago article you posted about whether you should take the vaccine after having been infected? The author basically says: Yes, because while it’s likely your natural immunity is protecting you, we don’t know for sure while we do know for sure about the vaccine. (Umm, we do have the experience of, well, every human immune response to every prior virus in history, but, hey, yeah, maybe this virus is the first …). Then the author goes on to say that when she got the vaccine as a recovered person she got high fever and felt worse for two days than when she had COVId. But, hey, she survived it so she’s happy she did it. My take: shut up and take the vaccine. It takes the vaccine or it gets the hose.

Yea it’s true, and I’m pretty happy about it too.

I have no problem with this. I won’t be going to the office but I’ve already been traveling. I prefer people get vaccinated. Firm has the right to require it.

like

It’s true. Leadership said 92% of firm is vaccinated or planned to be by Sept 1. So not a large delta

I’m having a really hard time with my changing body. 13 weeks, I don’t have too many bad side effects of pregnancy or anything so I consider myself lucky (no nausea ever etc) but I’m depressed at work, my skin is completely broken out and showing new broken face capillaries, and I’m not showing a bump yet so I just feel fat and big. I don’t know where this “glow” is but I look in the mirror and literally am grappling with not recognizing myself :( it’s been impossible to find any clothes too.
