I agree had a lot of patients with negative flu tests with covid like symptoms. I myself had something in February I thought was flu (test negative) and I hadn’t had influenza in 20+ years.

What state? I actually called our employee health nurse to ask her if our flu shots had missed the mark this year because I was running so many flu pts that I knew had their shots. She told me no it had the right strain. And we had more medics and EMTs out than I’ve ever seen this year and I’ve been there 26 years. This was mid Jan to early Feb
Illinois, Southern. We had people visiting California and traveling between California and Illinois for business, 2 schools shut down at that time for a couple of days for flu like illnesses but no positive tests.

Don’t we think that hospital ERs and floors and ICUs would have seen a lot more volume earlier in the year had there been community transmission earlier than March?
Yes there are multiple cases of MIDS multiple inflammatory disease syndrome
I work with some doctors that believe the same thing. In January we had all these “weird pneumonia’s” get admitted to the hospital. I guess we will never KNOW for sure. (Colorado)
