(Cont.) Making someone believe something that is absurd as part of their identity is a LONG established way of brainwashing someone. It is what the scientologists do, its what Islamic terror organizations do, its what the Nazis did. The fact that it is stupid is the whole point. This is how you make zealots and terrorists. That is the only possible intent of doing this. This is how you radicalize a normie.

Please share anti-vaccine propaganda from a republican politician? Happy to share Desantis or others saying please get vaccinated.

Being pro-vaccine and anti-enforcement are not on the same side of the argument. Pro-personal choice and anti-enforcement are not the same, either. Removing enforcement is a violation of personal choice - the business’ choice in who they service. You can be pro-personal choice for vaccines and pro-vaccine, but when you enforce being pro-choice on others, you’re not really pro-vaccines. Of all the things conservatives could take a personal choice and privacy stance on, they chose a public health crisis rather than something more pervasive, like women’s healthcare or personal data ownership. It’s pretty twisted.

As far as I’m concerned alt-right antivaxxers are more than welcome to leave more vaccine for people who want it while playing Covid roulette at bars and rallies. A Proud Boy or Oath Keeper sympathizer laid up with Covid is a lot less dangerous and capable of overthrowing democracy than a healthy one with immunity. It sounds like a fair trade to me.

They changed their tune real quick once they saw those poll numbers and their stock portfolio. And you know they’re all vaccinated and probably pushed someone’s granny out of the way to be first in line. I don’t wish harm on anyone, but I’m also not going to beg for the likes of Michael Flynn and the Sedition Caucus to get the shot if they really don’t want to. Nor am I going to go to any great lengths to keep them alive in terms of restricting my own behavior. At some point, we have to let nature run its course. Rugged individualism goes both ways. I just wish we could automatically donate every dose the anti vaxxers turn down to developing countries instead of throwing them away.

It actually gets them less votes… just think about it.

Daily show did a fun comparison, putting two hot topics next to each other: 1) migrants with Covid are creating a health crises and 2) COVID is no big deal. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wmoABTiCpco

My sister is unvaccinated with no plans to get the vaccine. She is getting married this year, meaning lots of events. I am pregnant, high risk (CH mama from yesterday’s post), and can’t risk getting Covid again. What would you do? Do I ask her to get vaccinated for my/her future niece’s sake? If she doesn’t, should I sit out the wedding events?

Has anyone ever shit their pants at work or on the way to/from work? I’ll go first... Was on my way to my buddy’s place for post-work dranks when I got the sudden urge to poo. Stuck in rush hour traffic I started sweating. Fast food places were not allowing people inside (only drive thru during peak covid) so I drove around looking for bush to shit in. Found a house with no lights on and nice bushes out front and pulled over. (Cont’d in comments)

I find that single male friends of friends are generally very eager when we first met or were introduced (through events, common friends’ parties). I got invited to their hangout bunch / house parties (pre-covid), but the moment we established i have no romantic interest and only friendships, they disappeared and we become barely acquaintance. I genuinely want to keep them in my life as friends. Why is this the case?

Has anyone successfully caught an associate falsifying time? I initially became suspicious because the amount of office chit chat I’ve witnessed and nature of social media postings (frequent bar trips midweek) wasn’t adding up with his alleged hours billed. I pulled his time and it’s hard to say if it’s falsified or if he’s just incompetent - and I don’t want to go to my other partners if I’m not 100% sure. But it’s hard to believe he honestly spent .8 reviewing a one page order.
