As long as IQ45 is in office I’d expect to stay home. The mishandling of this entire situation ranging from inability to effectively communicate, to very clear dementia and malignant narcissism, inability to be trusted, pathological lying, and compounded with him being a mental simpleton - it doesn’t look promising. We need someone that who can instill confidence to the nation. We don’t have anything remotely like that right now. China looks like it’s close to a real vaccine right now, but as long as he keeps bumbling our relationship with them, we could be massively screwed. This is a horrible situation, but fortuitous position, for China to rise to a superpower status well ahead of us. Considering how terrible and poor 45’s relationship handling is, they have incentives to withhold. All I know is this situation makes me relieved that I left pathogen research. This has got to be taxing for all the researchers working 12-24 hour days. Quite literally, around the clock. I really feel for them.

I’ve been a nurse for 10 years in Boston. I have a few years of sales that involved a lot of travel. Looking to step away from bedside nursing and get back into sales. I’m also a bit discouraged with my earnings and the wife wants to go down in hours to spend more time with the kids. So far I’ve applied to a few Novartis jobs and the interview process has started. Any other companies that you would suggest? I figure leveraging my medical knowledge would be best but I’m open. Thanks guys

Is MBB worth it? I’ve never been in mbb or big 4. Just smaller consulting firms. Have a competing offer between FAANG and MBB. I’m in tech and FAANG is more interesting for my career as well as preferred work culture. However, I’ve seen a lot about MBB here and kind of want to join just so I can say I was in MBB. For anyone whose team held back on promotions due to covid impact on revenue, how much did you push back on not receiving a promotion or raise (separate from a bonus, and if you were up for / expecting the promotion)? Did you ask for anything else in place of the promotion/raise? Context: smaller team ~25 within a larger company. All performance reviews leading up to year-end review have been very positive and in a non-covid world I would’ve been a lock for promotion.

All - joined a FAANG corporation a month ago. Had several opportunities on the table and left significant money to choose current role because it was aligned with the space I want to grow in. No regrets, but just found out my hiring manager is leaving the team for an internal transfer. There was a new guy coming into our team who will now backfill my managers role potentially. Organic guy, and has stellar rep, but the reason my manager is leaving is because the team goal is unachievable. Advice?
