This year my school is having us incorporated a “peace table/area” into our classroom for students. Anyone have any ideas of what I could put in my peace area? or have this in their classroom?

I have a peace corner in my room. In it I have paper and crayons, a sand timer, pencil boxes with sand and rocks as a zen garden. This year I am also going to make cool down bottles with water, glitter and glue. For my students who can’t choose on their own I have some of those plastic ice cubes that I have written choices on them with sharpie (comes in really handy when a kiddo is super dysregulated). I have a bulletin board that is called our self-regulation toolbox that shows our strategies as well as a few breathing pattern posters

Mine is a called the calm down corner and it's under a table against a wall. I have a basket filled with tools such as a colored water timer, Squishies, stress balls, basically different kinds of fidgets. the kids know these are tools and not toys and they keep them in that area unless they ask for permission to otherwise take them else where. The calm down corner has been so beneficial for those kids who are dysregulated and just need sometime to themselves away from others. I highly recommend it!

My best friend is an immigrant. She has lived in the USA for ten years now and has a great career. However she says america is very lonely. Her fellow immigrant friends from different countries also say this. She says culture here is friendly but distant and ppl are too wrapped up in their home life and less so in their social life. She misses daily socializing that was a norm in her home country. I’ve lived here all my life so can’t judge but curious as to whether other immigrants here agree
