Hi fishies! Need your thoughts on the following move. Have been offered to leave my lazy Roche consulting (regional role) to KPMG as a director in the healthcare sector. I tend see alot of horrible jokes about the latter… and somewhere that is preventing me from sizing out the opportunity. The money and exposure is better but I am skeptical.Roche KPMG

a teacher at my school took time off and just set up her own daycare. she takes care of literally 4-5 kids, makes more than when she was a teacher, and she gets to stay home. it's definitely easier than 23 kids. just something to consider.
Mine too! I had a kid in my class who was added to my caseload at the high school. Never have I ever met a freshman so out of line. He talked about porn openly in class, asked school workers including teachers if they wanted to watch porn during class, called teachers cunts and other choice words, called me a bitch and a “dumb old fag” and even more stuff that I wouldn’t even put out on the internet. The discipline referrals I had to write literally embarrassed me while I wrote them. But I’ve finally gotten through to him.
There were other students that added to this which is what really made me mental health plummet. Plus school politics, multiple BIG changes in our district at once... AVID, PLC, growth mindset focus, etc etc. multiple administration changes, unknown expectations for teachers etc.
But I finally got through to this kid, I swear it all changed when I told his mom how smart he was in his IEP meeting. He had an 18% in earth science and got an 80% on the final (and he only spent half the time the other kids did on it). I told her it just goes to show how ridiculously smart he really is.
After that we worked really hard to find out what motivated him and I came up with a plan. He still calls some teachers cunts... but he needs mutual respect because he’s had a lot of SHIT happen in his life. Now he comes into my class everyday happily and asks me how I’m doing and we have good conversations, he does his work and he got a B in my class this semester!
This one success literally changed my entire outlook on the year.
If you still love the fact that you can help teachers and children, get your master's and work as an admin. or teacher coach. ACE is a great online college for an ed related master's.
Maybe working for the region, scholastic, or something like that!

You could probably get a job in management.
