At the Seattle rally yesterday EVERYONE was wearing masks

like

Lol good thing for you to assume that I wear it multiple times. I really haven’t been going out (in grocery stores I would only wear my buff - Trader Joe’s only allows a limited number of people at any one time and it’s not nearly crowded enough to use my N-95 in my personal risk assessment) and I have been saving my N-95 for cases where I would be in crowded places, like this one. And double lol, did YOU assume I’m black? I’m Asian. I did NOT assume you’re white, but I did assume you’re non-black to have posted that post. Tell me I’m wrong and I’m happy to be corrected.

Social distancing is a bit last week now

Everyone I saw was wearing masks snd being outside reduces the risk drastically. Still doesn’t eliminate it, but I’d rather take my chances going to a protest than getting stopped by a racist cop.

Was roaming around the protesters last night in Chicago. Surprisingly, great majority wore masks from what I saw.

It’s not just about weighing one human life against many human lives, or whatever math you choose to employ. It’s the manner in which these lives are taken. A reasonable argument can be made that risking the lives of many is worth the life of one, or the potential loss of more in the future. Throughout history, large scale wars have been fought over what began as small scale or even individual loss of life.

🙄 OP I know you are smarter than the way you phrased your point and your halfassed rhetorical question, granted COVID is real and taking lives. COVID doesn’t discriminate! Racism, systemic oppression, unfair judicial and criminal justice system does...in 2020 nonetheless. Yes COVID disproportionally affects black and brown folks, but largely due to the centuries of said racism and said oppression. Don’t let the media be your only ‘educational’ resource and don’t let a few bad apples spoil the real message. And YES, a human life is more important than material things...but most would agree that doesn’t justify damaging others property. Ironically, the USA has spent more in reacting to and fighting against Covid19 than they have to battle the issues stemming from slavery. So yes let’s all wear masks and social distance to protect each other from Covid19...but what actions have u/are u/will u be doing to protect your fellow human beings from the the other perils of 2020? Literal you, as well as these sometimes United States of America

CD1 I could do anything to support minorities and fight for equality. However I would not clap for riots and violence. To me they are criminals and selfish, not helpful for establishing respects from others. You earn respect by your actions is what I would tell my kids and family.

We’ve had my MIL watch my toddler during quarantine so my husband and I can work and now she’s going to help out when our newborn comes home in a few weeks. She’s been AMAZING. Any ideas on how to best thank her? We’ve done flowers and stuff and with Covid I don’t want to give her a spa day or anything like that.

Completely random question - I am getting pretty sick of working from home. Based in LA, so with the covid situation working from a cafe/restaurant is not possible. I have a nice park nearby. Has anyone worked from a park before? If yes, what items should I be prepared to bring along and any other nice to have items that you would recommend? @

Sibling has no self-control. Covid has brought out the worst in him. He constantly stays inside his bedroom, sometimes for days at an end. These tendencies existed before pandemic but has gotten significantly worse during. Any suggestions on how to help him

Help!! My husband and I are about to move to a new state bc I got a new (and significantly) better job, and we were planning on moving at the end of the school year as do not disrupt my stepdaughters pre school (she ends in June). Her previously uninvolved, biological birth mother just served my husband papers saying she wants visitation again - she “stepped away from being a parent” at the start of COVID when she was arrested for attacking her then boyfriend’s wife. I’m having serious concerns

I've been solitary all my life - no friends and no girlfriends and have been perfectly with the kind of boring lifestyle I live. For additional context, Indian born but raised since I was 3 in the US by traditional parents. I've recently been getting, for lack of a better term in English, "marriage interview" requests from the parents of others also raised in the US. Throwing Mr. Solitary into the fastest version of speed dating possible seems like a recipe for disaster. Any advice?
