Those who find happiness intrinsically, how do you do it? I’ve always sought things and people to be happy. I’ve been less happy after college and the pandemic doesn’t help. Growing up, our family constantly moved (3 continents, 4 countries) and it was always difficult to make friends. I can’t complain to people about this because then I sound like the privileged prick who gets to travel and lives a arguably good life. Sorry for the rant 😔
You’re not alone! I’ve had a very similar upbringing and while as a result I actually make friends quite easily, my relationship with my family has never been great.
I can’t respond as someone who “intrinsically find happiness” since unfortunately I’m not one of them having struggled with work-rated depression and anxiety, but I can recommend trying to find small things to appreciate or be happy about.
Pandemic hasn’t helped anyone but try to enjoy the little (or tiny) things in life whether it’s a nice catch up with a friend, a “treat yourself” purchase, something that went well at work etc.
Didn’t mean to imply you can’t make friends by the way! 😂
I get what you mean though by not being able to maintain a group, sometimes I’m really envious of my “newer/local” friends who have been around since childhood.
But hey in the bright side of and when we move around, there’s an advantage of having a lot of people we know already
