Didn’t see it coming. Was an analyst on up and enjoyed the money and work but constantly being on call and basically having to ask permission as a 30 year old to go on a weekend trip weighed more now as a VP vs back then. Now I’m at a point where I don’t even care about clients, but my autopilot is good enough to get me by. Need a new job. It just wears on you.

I quit cold turkey as a 25 yr old 1st year associate. 3.5 years in banking. I didn’t see it coming. It kind of just snuck up on me and it was too much to keep going

If you're burnt out it means you're either working towards the wrong thing or don't want it badly enough to be willing to give what it's taking.
