Anyone here in IT M&A?
In the past when I was on a remote project in consulting I was pulling 6am to midnight and most weekends for a cranky project manager that couldn’t handle me being away from my computer even for a moment. Now in industry I get paid more, work 8 hours a day with an hour for lunch. I have more responsibility and manage my own work stream. My leadership is very understanding and allows for full autonomy in managing work, schedules and deliverables. Sometimes I work an extra hour or two more on an occasional given day if needed, and an occasional weekend per quarter. I schedule my own work and my own meetings so I have control over my schedule and my deadlines. Friday afternoons are basically a wash and no one is actually working.
Most of industry is like this if you find a good manager and a good overall company culture. In our company at least, the culture has not changed after to Covid-19, although our wonderful Friday 4-7pm happy hours have become fun 30min Pictionary sessions via Zoom. Not the same but still a good try.

I've been in industry for a few years now. Working hours are the exact same as before, I'm just WFH 100% now vs 2 days a week.
No expectations from my bosses or from me to my team that anyone gives up their lunch break or anything of the sort. We get the same 30 minute lunch break we had beforehand.

Yep, pre-rona. Normally 0730-1600ish
Typically 9-5 with about 30 min for lunch. No one schedules lunch meetings.. we also have one fun game with team per week ( which I'm genuinely enthusiastic in attending coz it's not like the consulting events that are sometimes mandatory/ forced).
