OP, jokes aside here are a few things:
1. Canada has, in my experience, less racial tension than the US
2. Canada has less variety in its economy and geographical footprint than the US
3. For new immigrants, Canada offers a rather straightforward path to becoming Canadian, than the US
3. Canada is more expensive, in general, for everyday expenses. The biggest being the housing costs
4. Canada is colder than the US, on an average
1. Canada is way too expensive compared to US (Taxes: GST, PST, HST and other provincial taxes)
2. GDP of Canada is almost equivalent to that of California. Read “Smaller market, less opportunity”
3. Bitter cold (most Canadian cities). US has all types of weather. Canadian snowbirds travel to Florida in winter.
4. Entry barrier for newer immigrants “Read - Canadian Experience”. Qualified people do blue collar jobs, are disgruntled in a couple of years and then leave.
5. Openness for immigrants - Its good and bad. Good because it provides everyone an opportunity. Bad because a majority of them may not get the right jobs.
In terms of positives, Canada is a welcoming place for all immigrants. You feel at home quickly compared to US.
OP, here's my take as a PR of Canada (was on H1B previously):
1. Flexibility in doing whatever job I want - I can do multiple jobs without going through H1B stress
2. I can finally settledown, buy a home, and grow my family
3. My spouse and kids can work without being under the stress of having their work permit cancelled by any orange baboon
4. Better paternity and maternity time off, more time off in general
5. My health is not tied to a corporate job, my health insurance is taken care by the government
6. Better quality schools
7. Society is much more welcoming to immigrants like me
8. Don't have to get into BS discussion with fellow Desis who don't consider them as Desis after they got their GC or Citizenship
9. Controlled Gun Laws and lower Crime Rates
10. Being in the IT world, I find better opportunities in Canada as a PR than in the US as an H1B worker
Grammar and spellings are better in USA
