Hey Fishbowl community! I currently work as a Sales Support Specialist with 3 YOE working at a SaaS company. My dream career is to work at Microsoft or Google. I am open to different opportunities that exceed 80k+ per year. I also have a BA in Business Admin. If anyone can refer me to a great remote position I would greatly appreciate it! 😀

Not staying sane or happy
Let’s just say COVID removed all the good things about this job and left me with all the bad things (ie just the actual job itself 🤗)
Ditto
I’m staying sane through friendships outside of work but any tiny bit of enjoyment I got from my job (which was already limited) has now completely gone out the window.
This pretty much sums it up
I cry almost every day lol
was looking for some help but sounds like we are all in the same miserable boat 😞
I joined for the social component and then and there covid struck.
I hate my life :)
I’ve honestly never hated a job more. I’ve seriously been considering quitting. I’ve been crying a lot lately.
I’m really sorry. That’s such a crappy place to be in and I totally understand. I’d start asking yourself what you can do on a daily/weekly basis to try to save your sanity. Like what makes the day a little better? Then start looking for a long term solution (aka new job?).

Video calls. At some point this busy season I just started turning my camera on for every call. Changed the game, especially for client calls. It’s definitely not the same but it adds a touch of humanity to what we’re doing
Our office is opened for us to go in as we choose so that’s what I do to stay sane
The Bahamas office but we have a max capacity for social distancing
Focusing on the good things that have came from COVID. I enjoy being home with my dogs, I enjoy working without a shirt and not worrying about blowing my nose in front of people, I honestly have always preferred asking someone “got a second for a question?” over chat instead of walking up to them and abruptly stopping them working, I get much more flexibility in my day to day schedule and I am not annoyed by a manager staying later when I want to go home if I’ve gotten my work done, I just log off. One day we’ll look back and I for one will definitely miss a lot of the benefits of COVID working. The lack of socializing still sucks but being grateful for other things I guess is my answer.
This. Despite the things I’ve lost at work (socializing with colleagues, travel, etc.)...I’ve gained a ton at home by getting to spend time with my family, eat dinner with kids every night, wake up at 8am instead of 6:30am to catch the train, even more flexibility during the day and the list goes on. I miss traveling but I can do that on my own dime once the kids are out of school
I don't hate it but I don't have the passion any more. We used to travel at least once sometimes twice internationally for business and a few trips domestically. Now zero. Audit the business virtually is difficult. Can't really establish rapport with the business and connections can't be made.
It's the hard knock life
Y’all are soft
I call coworkers or friends not actually in the company who are also WFH and chat with them while I work. Makes it feel like someone else is there
It literally sucks and I constantly think about how if I was an A1 I would feel no incentive or desire to stay in this profession. There were social aspects and perks that balanced out the patches of busy or stressful times. I’m on my way out for sure
