Looking to leave Accenture to join another consulting firm. I'm based out in Sacramento CA. I have an MBA and 9 years of software consulting experience. Looking for that hook up to get an interview.
I see a lot talk on MBA Reddit about NYC MBB offices as the most difficult offices to land. Is there actually a higher level of difficulty to land NYC? Or is it a bunch of unknowledgeable people spreading bs?
What is harder, taking the CPA exam or getting a puppy during busy season? What is more expensive?
It feels like the Fishbowl is full of 21-25 yos. with all these dating and MBA related questions. Ah to be young again.
Second year senior consultant, I have MBA degree from India and MS degree from US. Do you guys think, doing MBA from US university would add more value than Indian MBA degree ?
My new task is to create a list of every meeting our entire group has in an excel because we have too many meetings. FML. I will fully utilize my 16+ YOE, MBA, PMP, and CPA for this task.
MD or MBA? I got into both. I know most will say choose the MD, but hear me out: MD: I'd have to go into a specialty to have a good IRR given my salary & the $200K+ debt. By the time I'd be done with residency the US may be in a single payer system. US doctors make 3x the amount in France and 2x vs UK.. I currently make what a doctor makes in France. That could be the future here, too. MBA: 1 yr. Europe. I'd make about 15-20% more vs. now.
I graduated with an MBA today. My mom immigrated to the US from Central America when she was 20. I lost her when I was young, but she planted a seed in me before we said goodbye. I feel like today I bear those fruits. Forever grateful.
What do girls on shaadi.com want?! I work at a reputed consulting firm, MBA from top 10 schools... so what more can I bring?!
How much does the whole Karen / dog situation in Central Park affect Booth’s reputation? Just curious if one case has any weighting or it doesn’t matter in your opinion? https://poetsandquants.com/2020/05/26/chicago-booth-mba-loses-her-job-after-being-accused-of-racist-behavior/?pq-category=business-school-news
I’m Asian, grew up poor, was running the cashier for my parents takeout biz starting 6th grade. I learned the hard way not to put my race down on my college applications. I was lucky enough to score Accenture consulting out of my non-target. Now I’m listening to my coworker friends (Hispanic and Black) who grew up rich in NJ and CT, refer each other to diversity programs that help with MBA admissions and provide scholarships, talking to each other about the money they get to save from it.
PSA: If you take a 4 week cert class from Harvard or similar schools and list it as your LinkedIn profile's education, you're announcing to the world that you're a 🤡🤡🤡
I just realized my partner has faked her qualifications in terms of degrees (Bachelors and MBA) with the firm... should I be quiet or let someone know?
Any risk folks out there who have gotten the Energy Risk Professional (ERP) certification? Pros/cons? Any feedback is appreciated

I'm a Tech Risk SC, but have an accounting/finance background. I'm doing the FRM now for broader cert experience, is it worth doing CA long term in my area?
My PMP exam is scheduled towards the end of next month and was wondering if anyone has a PMP V6 training material to share with me? Thank you in advance
Another one in Texas… does it ever stop?
Does anyone work for Conterra Fiber that could give me the details about commission structure for an enterprise rep? What’s the company culture like?
Currently working as a QA in a well known organization. I'm a fresher and have only been working for 10 months. Currently joined a Google certification course for data analytics. Will I be able to switch to IBM with the certification? Or will I need some more certifications/qualifications? I am learning R and excel as well. Am well versed in python and DBMS. Please help.
I’ve been trading options now for almost two years and really want to improve my technical analysis and understanding chart patterns and buy and sell zones and moving averages can anyone take the time on a Saturday to just have a chat and show me some new tricks
I’m about to whistleblow on my non-profit organizations’s bad ethics, potential mismanagement of funds for personal/family gain, disregard for health/safety concerns, and their retaliation against employees for bringing up those concerns. They have a plan to fire my coworker and I already for making safety complaints. Does anyone know of any good employment lawyers? Potentially any willing to take a pro bono case for public benefit?
TLDR: junior associates just don’t get it. When I was a junior associate I couldn’t imagine telling a senior associate on the day an assignment was due that I had other more urgent deadlines and I couldn’t get to their assignment. Are you kidding me? When we’re you going to communicate this? Am I supposed to just pick up the slack here and do your work for you? Our client deadline hasn’t changed. Was it just going to magically get done? WTF
In a conundrum. I’ve got 3 different offers with total compensation inversely proportional to firm prestige. BCG - $155k Accenture - $170k Grant Thornton - $180k Thoughts? Background: Healthcare. Masters level. Cleared. 5-10 YOE (for anonymity). BD experience.
I've done parts of the CFP but couldn't sit for the exam. I am thinking about finishing the requirements to sit, but I am wondering if my time would be better spent prospecting. Thoughts?
Need birthday gift advice for “the man who has everything”. Want to get him something small (we’re going on a trip together so it needs to fit in a carry on) and have only been seeing each other for 2 months, so I don’t want to give him anything too overwhelming. If we weren’t traveling I’d probably just have given him some good whiskey. He’s 48/photographer. Any suggestions? 😊
Can anybody refer me for the sr system administrator or sr system engineer position in your company? My current position is End User Computing specialist
Things you shouldn’t say when asking for a raise : -I don’t want to live in a walk up any more. -I don’t want room mates. -I asked around and I should be making more. -I don’t cook and only eat out.
First year analyst home for the holidays: Do any of you also find it hard to relate to friends/family that don't work in banking?

I’ve started thinking about children as luxury products 😂 They are CRAZY expensive!! My financial spreadsheets do not like when I start estimating the costs and reduced long term investment opportunities. My significant other’s family (Chinese) would probably kill us (or at least me) if we don’t have a kid. We are in Boston and the costs are very high. We are both 26, post grad school, combined making ~ 300k/year. No debt.

I literally can’t get myself to give a crap AT ALL. I used to be a stellar associate and proactive and on top of it. In the last year, I’ve been dropping the ball, not billing, just don’t care. I’m afraid I’m just done with it. Any tips? I’m a 5th year
