Looking forward to listening! Honestly I’m convinced it just comes back to our food system. What we eat is toxic.
It is truly sad & frankly not surprising to me. For reference, my mom/aunt/SIL are nurses, sister & BIL; doctors, BIL a pharmacist etc… We discuss this all day & one reason most doctors can’t stand me as a patient because I will drill them. Sadly, American health system is geared towards medication/management rather than prevention at its root cause.
Also I have heard from my folks that some patients comes in demanding drugs rather than seek real alternatives to alleviate problems. I was discussing with my aunt is who is a dentist who I found out I have reaction to the nose gas when I was extracting my wisdom tooth & had to remove it & took injection. She explained to me the reason & how most patients always ask for high dosage (long term abuse hence the need for high dosage).
Say all this to say that it’s truly sad & scary!
I’m listening now. Very interesting on a lot of levels.
Really enjoyed this! If you have any other shows/podcasts you recommend I’d love to see them
Definitely going to listen today. I know damn well I’m overweight and have been trying my best to reverse it and seeking out expertise and help the best I can. I keep hearing these very PC phrases even from my doctors and nutritionist! It has honestly been appalling. Like they tiptoe around weight when we know weight is the biggest risk factor for so many other things such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer… list goes on and on.
Dying earlier than ever? I highly doubt that.

I never really thought about it, but what a missed opportunity for public health messaging around healthy diet and lifestyles during the pandemic. We knew obesity put people more at risk of Covid (and about a gajillion other diseases) - why couldn’t we have incorporated that into other preventative messaging?! Wear a mask, wash your hands, and hey maybe instead of shoving banana bread down your face, you try out some new veggies? What a shame.
