Generally consensus seems to be piecemeal leave = work full time under the guise of being part time. Ill likely take the leave as a full chunk as recommended. Thanks
You’ll need to be good at setting boundaries. Otherwise you’ll end up “working” full time

I’d do as much with your partner as you can. When she returns to work, then take any remaining leave in a chunk. It’ll maximize baby bonding and keep work away.
When I took my first mat leave I took 8 weeks full time and then 8 weeks part time. I told very few people I was “back.” I just kept my emails moving, and did some SME/writing/review work. I was already an individual performer though, and in a leadership position; had I been on a project team or a full time FTE this approach would have been much harder.

Take the full thing at once
I’ll probably take the leave in one chunk but do a hour or two of work after hours so I don’t fall behind. It’s tough relearning everything after a few months
