As a POC I’m tired of all the talk instead of action, including those who may be well-intentioned but at times does feel like posting/calling others out publicly about diversity as just another way to boost their profile and get likes https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:6761069109347176448?commentUrn=urn%3Ali%3Acomment%3A%28activity%3A6761069109347176448%2C6761101554541043712%29", "post_id": "601980e07aee0300240f5445", "reply_count": 10, "vote_count": 4, "bowl_id": "5565cfca8b2b9a03009acf57", "bowl_name": "Advertising", "feed_type": "crowd" }

I’m a POC also and while I agree about the need for diversity, Rick Rubin has always worked with prominent Black artists and I’ve never heard anything but good things. I love representation, but true allies shouldn’t be scapegoats because the color of their skin.

POC here and had the same reaction. She’s done it before on other posts and far from being constructive it’s getting old and becoming just about shitting on anything she can. I’m all for representation but also sick of this just insert brown person so we look like we’re doing our thing. And not only is RR a true ally Rob is too, amazing human and does a lot to help boost those of us who feel stuck behind this white industry, he just doesn’t care to gloat about it and that’s what makes him awesome ❤️ ok, rant over.

Fair points all around.

She could have quoted an interesting POC instead of complaining about the guy quoting Rick Rubin.

Lest we forget, making a salient point is not the JS way.

POC here—worked with Joanna when she was a recruiter and she's the real deal. Maybe Rob wasn't a good person to call out but I think she's more than put her money where her mouth is.

Yeah I feel like they are both outspoken advocates for BIPOC who unfortunately got into this back and forth battle of wokeness which does no one any actual good, and is also frustrating for BIPOC to see from the sidelines.

Also those posting nearly everyday on LinkedIn and other socials is a bit much, no matter what the topic - just reeks of attention-seeking and posting for likes.

I’m convinced that “implementations” are more challenging than “strategy” consulting. Having done both, the nuances associated with having to figure out every last detail in implementations makes the work significantly more challenging than painting high-level strategy in what is often broad brushstrokes filled with assumptions.
