5ish is okay. 6 is dangerous.

Makes sense. 🙃

It’s not a binary decision of safe/not safe. There’s a risk and there’s things you can do mitigate it but you can’t eliminate the risk.

like

Safe yet ? It’s like the worst it has been since March. Pretty sure governors aren’t shutting down entire parts of our economy for fun.

I mean plane crashes are very rare. You should be fine

Hilarious to me when someone tries to justify their flight by length “it’s just a quick 1 hr flight” lol how tf does it matter how long the flight is? You are going through and airport and sitting next to random people whether you’re flying to Des Moines or Dubai. If you feel safe, do it. Otherwise, don’t do it. No one else can decide for you.

Let’s not forget that the middle seats are usually free on that Des Moines -> Dubai route

Just the flu bro

dont think it's more dangerous than a 1, 2, 3 hr flight tbh.. air is recycled quite frequently and the only difference is how many people might walk by you to go to/from the bathroom

Benefits of wearing masks: 1) Reduce spread of Covid and save lives 2) By reducing spread, we can open up the economy sooner and get people back to work. Note: we didn’t wear masks during the flu season because Covid is 10x deadlier. Any questions?

My roommate and best friend refuses to get the covid vaccine whenever it’s available because she believes vaccines gave her sister autism. We’re reaching a point of tension where I can’t bring anything up with her that isn’t topical because she’s going through a lot and becomes easily triggered by anything foreign to her. I can’t move out right now. And it also makes me sad that she’s so close minded about the world. Any advice for coexisting/coping? I predict winter will be tough. TIA...♥️

Good luck to those who are going into their first busy season! Yes, it’s daunting at first - we’ve all been there (albeit, not in a remote environment amidst a pandemic.) My best advice is to take one day at a time (marathon, not a sprint). Remember audit/tax/consulting is not life or death, and you WILL make it through. Have patience with yourself and your teams. Find a mentor! Don’t forget you can always find some moral support (read: self-deprecating humor) in your fellow fish!

A tech firm reached out, and I had a 30-min call with a CD. Went well and I agreed to more interviews. Turns out the next round is a “4-hour panel WebEx interview”. Their creative dept isn’t well established, so is it wrong for me to politely say “4 hours is a big investment, can we briefly chat about salary range, title, etc”? I kinda don’t want to go down this road for a lateral title and who-knows-what salary. If it was a better-known in-house shop, I’d go with the flow.
