In short, a mixed bag. Come on over though we’d love to have you.
I’m former Big 4 - really nice to be in a pure play consulting company. Distinct culture to not have CPA heritage.
No knock on PwC (never worked there), but we generally do higher impact work than I did at my Big 4 company.
Also much less BS around comp - it’s standardized, fair, and good.
Also promotion times much faster.
Finally - morale is great - we have challenges of course but firm culture is the best among firms I’ve worked for. People look out for each other and genuinely like and respect each other. We weed out assholes pretty quickly ;-)
@atk4:
Fair enough. Big4 firms definitely do a lot more of the auditing / accounting stuff nowadays.
I was just thinking about how consulting and accounting had (possibly) surprisingly common roots.
As former ATK, I would say it is probably a step up and the people are quality and not d$ck$
I’m ex- PwC, go for it.
Moved here from S& and it is still a step for me. If you are MC/TC, then even better.
What makes the firm special, is the people. It’s a very close knit company.
If anyone of you has any specific questions please let me know - happy to answer any.
Idk if you are based out of the US but if you are, are there practice specific offices? For example, if I joined in Atl would I be placed in ATK solutions?
Is ATK solutions different than traditional ATK in terms of work, path to partnership and compensation ?
You have the ability to stay at one level longer in Solutions and focus more. But you can make partner and compensation has become basically the same.
Not that I’m biased at all, but I’d say do it! Which are office you thinking of? If you’ve got any general questions feel free to DM me.
