Thoughts on account brand relevance to overall career? Early on it was not a factor but as I advance I have evaluated opportunities based on the brand recognition opportunity. Wrong? Right? Thoughts?

In my experience every brand is an opportunity to learn (about new industries, process, building relationships, managing teams, working with different personalities, etc). I’ve worked on everything from toilet paper to manufacturing to liquor to finance to Olympic campaigns and have produced amazing work for all. It’s all what you take from it. And as someone who has hired junior team members I’ve been more interested in stories around what they’ve accomplished with lesser known brands with smaller budgets. Doing big flashy campaigns is easier when client has money to spend. Show me what you can do when budgets and timelines are tight and you’re talking to a niche market.

I am in a tech IC position. One of friends switched to FAANG by converting the profile to consultant profile. The friend who might have less tech knowledge than me is now in FAANG and earning more. If the end goal would be that the friend might one day be a product manager and me an engineering manager taking instructions from the same friend, isn't consultant profile an easier path to growth. I had been practising DSA for years and the competition is only ever growing.

I’ve been at the same agency for 5 years, have had endless growth opportunities, love the people I work with and have been promoted regularly with salaries I’m happy with but something has felt off for awhile now. I can’t put my finger on what “it” is but I’m bored of the work, the office politics just annoy me and I roll my eyes on every email that comes though. I think everything is pushing me for a new change in my career but I’m also worried that the grass may not be greener. Advice?

Right now I’m unhappy in my role due to bad management. I work in NYC at a beauty/CPG company. I have an opportunity to move to a new role internally which I am trying to make happen just to get some sanity. I have 6 years total experience (4 + as an IT project manager/ business analyst and 2 on as a Tech Product lead) but am considering if I should consider finding a new job. Any advice or recommendations for positions? And what salary range should be like for similar roles?

Looking for advice on breaking into the L&E litigation field. I’m a rising third-year general litigation associate at a v10 law firm in NYC where I’ve gotten to work on a couple of L&E cases. My job search for L&E roles has been a bit of an uphill battle, because most of the roles require significant L&E experience. Would it be a bad idea to take a non-partner track role in an AmLaw100 firm’s L&E group in order to break into the field? What kinds of jobs would I be marketable for afterwards?

Hello, I’m an associate (almost at the one year mark) at a midsize firm on the EPL team. I did about 2 years of employment law as a clerk during school and know that’s what I want to go into. I’ve asked for more EPL work but keep catching PI cases. I second-chaired an employment trial but don’t see any EPL work for the foreseeable future and wasn’t getting as much EPL exposure as I wanted before the trial. Any advice on a lateral move to a bigger firm with a broader range of EPL work?
