Thoughts on activity in the heat (90’s) while pregnant? I’m 4 weeks along and want to keep up golfing, but worried about the heat. (Doctor says it’s fine - looking for how any of you mamas actually felt)

Same - I’m in the south, 90s are unavoidable. Just drink lots of water. Normal weather shouldn’t have any affect on your core body temp.

Just listen to your body. Bring plenty of water and snacks. Take a break and cool off if you don’t feel well.

I played golf all summer, til 40 weeks in September, in Dallas! Just like above said - listen to your body, drink lots of fluids, ride in a cart 🤪

Thanks all! I made it through - got dizzy and the chills at the range so I had some food/water and rested for a bit before we played and felt much better. The breeze on the course (+ having a cart) was lovely and made it far more comfortable. I even shot my lowest score in 20 years!

That’s great! I would just listen to your body and drink LOTS of fluids in the hot weather.

Currently 16w and the heat has zapped me (dc area) just being outside. I’d suggest staying hydrated and having a fan to help cool you if you do end up outside - and lots of shade

I ran in the 90s at the end of my pregnancy. All good here but a super active baby boy ;)

I should add. Just listen and pay attention to your body. Drinks lots of water and go slower as needed.

Depends on where you live. I’m in Texas and 28 weeks. I walk 3-5 evenings per week and the temperature is almost always 90+. I try to stay in only if the temperature reaches triple digits. We’ve been good. Still, as others have said, talk with and listen to your doctor. Stay hydrated, and stay aware of how your body feels

I don’t think I could do an hour, PwC 1. I usually do to 30 - 45 minutes increments, but then again I wasn’t someone who would be spend an hour plus in the heat before I got pregnant. I also drink at least 100 oz of water / day. Also probably helps that I’m a native who moved back 4 years ago. So I’ve been able to keep the tolerance I had before.

Like another commenter, I golfed until 36 weeks (and would've kept going if carpal tunnel hadn't gotten in the way). Play early to avoid heat if you can, drink tons of water, and listen to your body. I always told myself that I could stop at 9 if I wasn't feeling it, which made me feel better even if I never actually did it. Also wish we were in the same place and could have a ladies golf group -- some of the comments I got while golfing pregnant were 🙄🙄

Deloitte moms, I need your guidance. For some reason, someone (not sure which team) has marked my maternity leave (LOA) starting next week on DTE and I can’t update it to show PTO. I have repeatedly told the Leaves team and MetLife that I’m not starting LOA until the baby comes (due date 10/31, no baby yet). Whom do I contact to fix the DTE issue? If this happened to you, what did you do?

Any fish here dealt with a lonely/toxic parent? I recently came to the realization that my mom is toxic (think guilt-tripping, saying mother-child bond is sacred, making comparisons, etc.) and has become very dependent of me, and as much as I want to be there I can only do so much since I have a family myself. She refuses to move to a nursing/retirement home, look for companionship, and seek professional help for tasks she needs done such as car maintenance, insurance inquiries, etc. (Cont’d)

How would you go about telling a company you don’t want to do anymore interviews? I was originally told probably two or three, then “one last one”, and now “potentially two more”. In each interview, they talk like I have the role and keep asking how much notice I would need to give as if they’re in a rush to get me in, but then schedule another round of interviews. Honestly the interviews seem more like meet and greets. Cont.
